Leak Detection using Electroscan

For a quick and reliable way to ascertain any leaks in the pipeline, look no further than the Electroscan - a Focused Electrode Leak Location System (FELL) designed to accurately locate leaks in non-metallic sanitary sewer pipes.  Using a simple focused electrode and powerful analytical software, pipe defects are easily located, thereby reducing inflow/ infiltration issues economically and quickly. The Electro Scan FELL 41 primarily locates defects in mains while the FELL 21 locates defects in laterals or service connections.

The Electroscan test uses the variation of electric current flow through the pipe wall to locate defects that are potential water leakage paths either into or out of the pipe. Hence exfiltration and infiltration through joints, cracks, holes, lateral connections and other defects can be confirmed.

The Electroscan method has been proven to be consistent with CCTV inspections. As the sonde is pulled through the pipe at a speed of 10m/min, it is faster and more efficient compared to most leak investigation methods. Immediate results can be obtained. With the latest reporting software, clients have also been satisfied with our comprehensive and detailed reports.

Electro Scan is used to:

    • Detect all types of pipe defects that are potential leaks including joints, cracks and service connections
    • Locate leaks within inches
    • Test continuously along pipe at any time of year
    • Assess size of pipe defect
    • Determine type of defect - joint, service connection, crack
